Katie Cox
Katie has over 25 years experience teaching babies through to adults. She starting teaching swimming with her Mum at the age of 16. Check out the Facebook page Cairns learn to swim, where you will see tips and skills advice, some of which are coming from her Mum, a highly experienced and knowledgeable teacher of both Swimming and High school Physical Education.
With a varied teaching background from the UK, New Zealand, down in Sydney and here in Cairns at Tobruk Pool and over at TAS; Katie has taught nervous beginners, to the competing triathlete. She loves creating bespoke classes, finding the right activity for the students, so that it can help them to develop and have fun in the water. She also teaches school swimming at TAS as part of their seasonal programme.
Katie has an Honours Degree in Sports science. She is a qualified ASA swimming teacher for Babies to Adults, an Austswim Instructor, with specialisms in Babies and School age children. She is part of Autism Swim which specialises in teaching those on the Autism Spectrum. She is a qualified Pool Lifeguard with Queensland RLSS and is always excited for the Nippers season to begin to get her boys back to the beach!
She is looking to build her skill set with Aqua classes, so doo look out as more trial and training sessions are on their way!!
